Who we are

A form is easy to submit and easy to get wrong

The Diversity Visa entry form takes fifteen minutes and costs nothing on the official government site. We tell everyone that. The problem is that a large share of the entries submitted each year never reach the draw, and the entrant never finds out why, because rejected entries are simply not counted.

Almost all of it comes down to the photograph and to details that do not match the passport. A face a few pixels too small in the frame. A middle name in the surname field. A child left off because they live with a grandparent. A second entry submitted by a well-meaning relative.

What we sell is the part between deciding to enter and having a valid entry in the pool: eligibility confirmed, a compliant photograph for every person, data checked against your passport, submission inside the official window, and your confirmation number kept safe for the day the results are published.

The procedure

Three stages, and you always know which one you are on

The first two happen inside the registration window each autumn. The third only matters if your number comes up.

  1. 01

    Eligibility and photograph

    Before anything is submitted, we establish that you can enter at all.

    • Your country of birth is checked against the current eligible list, including the spouse and parent exceptions where your own country is excluded.
    • Your education or two years of qualifying work experience is confirmed against the programme requirement.
    • You send us a photograph of yourself and every family member, and we adjust each one to the State Department specification: dimensions, file size, head position, background and expression.

    Entry preparation and submission

    The entry is built from your passport, not from memory.

    • Every field is checked line by line against your passport: name order, spelling, date and place of birth, gender and marital status.
    • Your spouse and all unmarried children under 21 are listed, including those living elsewhere or not intending to move.
    • The entry is submitted during the official registration window and your confirmation number is recorded and sent to you.

    Results and what follows

    Being selected is the start of the case, not the end.

    • When the draw is published the following May, your result is checked through the official Entrant Status Check using your confirmation number.
    • If you are selected, the DS-260 immigrant visa application is prepared and your civil documents are reviewed against what the consulate expects.
    • You are prepared for the interview and the case is moved promptly, because the annual visa numbers run out before the year does.
Where entries die

The draw is random. Getting into it is not.

You cannot influence the selection. You can control whether your entry is valid enough to be in the pool at all, and that is decided by details most people never hear about.

  • The photograph

    Wrong dimensions, wrong file size, a head that fills too much or too little of the frame, glasses, a shadowed background, or a photo already used in a previous year. This is the single biggest cause of rejected entries.

  • Names that do not match

    Given name and surname entered in the wrong fields, a middle name added or dropped, or a transliteration that differs from the passport. The entry and the passport have to agree exactly.

  • A missing family member

    A spouse or an unmarried child under 21 left off the entry, including children who live elsewhere or who are not planning to move. Omitting one can invalidate the case at the interview stage.

  • Two entries

    One entry per person, per year. People are disqualified every year because a relative or a second agent submitted on their behalf without telling them.

  • Country of birth confusion

    Eligibility follows country of birth, not citizenship or residence. Entering under the wrong country, or missing that a spouse's birth country would have made you eligible, both cost people the entry.

  • The lost confirmation number

    Results are only available through the official Entrant Status Check, using the confirmation number. Lose it and there is no way to find out whether you were selected.

    Registering yourself on the official government site costs nothing, and it is written on every page here. Any service that hides this, or implies it sells access to the draw, is selling you something it does not have.

  • The photograph is done properly

    Not a filter and not a crop tool. Dimensions, file size, head position within the permitted range, background, lighting and expression, checked against the current specification for every person on the entry.

  • Checked against the passport

    Name order, spelling, transliteration, date and place of birth. The entry has to agree with the document you will eventually put in front of a consular officer, not with how you usually write your name.

  • One entry, and we know it is one

    A second entry disqualifies you. We ask directly whether anyone else has entered on your behalf, because this is the failure people never see coming.

  • Your confirmation number is kept

    It is the only way to check the result. We store it, send it to you, and remind you before the next registration window opens.

  • Someone is there in May

    The results are where most people are left alone. On the Entry and Selection package the DS-260, the documents and the interview preparation are handled, and the case is moved before the visas run out.

Is the Green Card Lottery free to enter?

Registering yourself on the official State Department website costs nothing, and we say so on every page of this site. What you pay us for is the eligibility check, a photograph built to the technical specification, line-by-line accuracy against your passport, submission on your behalf, and the work that follows if you are selected.

Can you improve my chances of winning?

No. Selection is random among all valid entries, and nobody can influence it. What can be influenced is whether your entry is valid at all. A large number of entries are thrown out every year on the photograph, on a data mismatch, or on a duplicate submission, and those are the failures we exist to prevent.

Are you a government agency?

No. Global Entry Solution is a private company. We are not affiliated with the State Department, USCIS or any other government body, and we are not an official partner of the Diversity Visa programme.

Why do so many entries get disqualified?

The photograph is the single biggest cause. It has to be recent, correctly sized, correctly compressed, with the right head position, background and expression, and it cannot be a photograph already used in a previous year's entry. After that come name and date-of-birth mismatches against the passport, missing family members, and people entering twice because a relative also submitted for them.

Can I enter more than once?

No. One entry per person per year. A second entry disqualifies you outright, and this catches people who enter themselves and then let a relative or another agent enter for them as well. If you have already submitted an entry this year, tell us before we do anything.
