When you complete an eligibility check we collect the details you enter: your name, contact details, country of birth, citizenship, age band, marital status, education, occupation, work experience, family details and any notes you choose to add. If you proceed with an entry, we also hold your passport details, the photographs you send us, and your entry confirmation number.

When you browse the site we collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, for security and aggregate analytics.

Eligibility details are used to establish whether you can enter the Diversity Visa programme and, if you go ahead, to prepare and submit your entry.

Contact details are used to send you that result and to respond to questions you raise. We do not sell your details or pass them to third parties for marketing.

Where you instruct us to proceed, your details and photographs are submitted to the Department of State as part of your entry, and at the immigrant visa stage to the relevant consular post.

We also use service providers for hosting, email delivery and analytics. These providers process data on our instructions only.

Entry records, including your confirmation number, are retained for as long as needed to check results and support a selected case, and are then deleted or anonymised. Photographs are not reused between years, since a reused photograph invalidates an entry.

You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to retain it.
